So February saw our premiere at Nuffield Southampton Theatres' Make it SO season. Our first full production of 'My Soulmate's Husband's Soulmate', shoulder to shoulder with other fantastic local creatives who were featuring in the season. So how did it go?
“A challenging and provocative look into the complexities of relationships, turning convention on its head.” – Anne Waggott, Scene One
"...a very well written piece that feels natural and realistic... It’s funny, and human, and pulls you in." - Jo Fisher Writes
“One of the finest pieces of theatre I’ve had the good fortune to see”
"Serious philosophy and proper lols perfectly paced."
"I'm still talking about it to my work colleagues today!" – Audience Members
It' went pretty bloody well!
The swathes of positive feedback we received were seriously overwhelming, and we can't thank the audiences enough for being welcoming and warm. Southampton is home turf for us, so naturally we had familiar faces in the audience, but also endless strangers approaching us to say how much they had enjoyed the play.
The real test of success was the number of people getting in touch to tell us they were still thinking about the story days later. We hoped the 'what if', speculative points of view in 'Soulmates' would stay with people and start a discussion, and apparently they did!
So....back to the rehearsal room - trimming, tightening, revising, ready for Brighton Fringe in May. Will we see you there?
